Ex-ASUU President Dies In Fatal Car Crash

* A former President of the Academic Staff Union of
Universities, ASUU, Festus Iyayi, has died. Iyayi
lost his life in an auto accident on Tuesday
afternoon on his way to an ASUU congress
meeting in Kano.
The professor died on the bad Lokoja road in Kogi
State.
The national body of the union had called for a
meeting in Kano to discuss the ongoing strike
embarked on by the lecturers.
Iyayi’s death may have dealt a big blow on the
industrial action. The union may have to extend
the strike action to mourn the renowned writer,
university teacher and activist.
